OBJ Viewer

An OBJ viewer that opens Wavefront .obj models directly in your browser. Drop a file in to orbit it, inspect the wireframe, read its dimensions, and capture a clean screenshot — all locally, with no upload.

What is an OBJ file?

OBJ is the long-standing Wavefront text format for 3D geometry: vertices, faces and normals in a file almost every modeling tool can export, from Blender and Maya to CAD and scanning software. Materials live in a companion .mtl file and textures in separate images, so an OBJ on its own carries the shape — exactly what you want for a quick geometry inspection.

Built for quick geometry checks

Turn on wireframe to judge topology and density, auto-rotate for a turntable view, and read the bounding box to verify scale before the model goes into a game engine, a renderer or a conversion step.

Frequently asked questions

How do I open an OBJ file?

Drag the .obj file into the viewer above or click to browse. The mesh renders immediately in your browser.

Why does my OBJ appear without textures?

OBJ textures live in separate image files referenced by a companion .mtl file. This viewer loads the .obj geometry itself, so the model shows with a neutral material — the shape, proportions and wireframe are exact.

Can I convert OBJ to another format here?

Not in this version. For viewing and screenshots the OBJ opens as-is; the 3D text generator on the home page exports GLB and STL if you need those formats for text models.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. The OBJ is parsed locally in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored anywhere.
